MY STYLE
PHILOSOPHY
I found my fashion calling in design school, where I realized that styling isn’t some natural-born talent bestowed only upon the fashion elite—it’s learnable! All it takes is soaking up the right know-how.
There’s a treasure trove of theories to help you piece together outfits, which makes styling especially handy if you don’t have that “born-with-it” style radar.
But before diving headfirst into experiments, it’s important to get the basics down pat: think colour theory, silhouettes, proportions—those fundamentals that make outfits 'click.' Once you’ve nailed the essentials, stay wildly curious! Inspiration can strike anywhere: scrolling through Instagram, flipping through a glossy fashion mag, people-watching at your favourite café, or even spotting an unusual colour combo in nature. It’s a never-ending treasure hunt for ideas—one that evolves as you do. That’s where the magic really begins: you start mixing and matching your fundamentals with fresh inspirations to create a style that’s undeniably you.
As Picasso famously said, “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.” In other words, master the basics, then let your creativity run wild, with a wink and a dash of flair, of course!
